Throughout history, humans have grappled to understand our role in the contextually vast expanse of the observable universe. At the core of our existence lies a deep-seated need for purpose, direction, and connection. This is evident in our many beliefs in higher powers, whether we call it 'The Divine,' 'GOD,' 'ALLAH', or “TAO.” Such beliefs provide us perspectives to idealize, functioning as a shining star our moral compass can aim for during our journey’s through tumultuous storms on this ocean voyage known as life.
Our very DNA, is a testament to the incredible journey of life from singles cells, through the age of dinosaurs, to the present, a marvel of natural selection. It's not just a biological code, it is our generationally interlinked spirit of ancestral resilience and adaptability. As death evolved us, our consciousness did too. Our ability to project into the future, to imagine, and to foresee potential outcomes has been crucial for our survival.
Of course, no individual is an island. Our longitudinal strength lies in our communities, in the bonds we forge with our family, friends and neighbors. It's through these connections that we experience meaning, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Alone, we are adrift, but together, we can aim for the stars, reaching for higher purposes and aspirations. (A stairway to heaven)
Life is a gift(that’s why it’s called the present), one that comes with its fair share of trials and challenges. Yet, it's these very challenges that shape us, strengthening us to strive, to aim higher, and to give our very best. In doing so, we honor the gift of life, making our existence meaningful and worthwhile. (Or dishonor it with our cowardice)
This journey through life is a soup of individual aspirations and collective endeavors. By recognizing the power of the individual within their community, the importance of purpose, and the gift of life, we can navigate the ocean of life with grace, wisdom, and resilience.
The world is great, if we make it that way.
